LEARN and PRACTICE the WORD of GOD

A thought : Immanuel experience

Malachi 1:6 “A son honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My respect?” says the Lord of hosts . . .

Through the prophet Malachi, God used the analogy of father to son and master to servant to rhetorically ask, “Since you honor your parents, shouldn’t you also honor me?” The Israelites well understood this meaning. The fourth of the Ten Commandments states that children are to honor their parents.

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you. —Exodus 20:12 (See also Deuteronomy 5:16.)
It was even known that disobedient children were to be stoned to death.

If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them, then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his hometown. They shall say to the elders of his city, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey us, he is a glutton and a drunkard.” Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death; so you shall remove the evil from your midst, and all Israel will hear of it and fear. —Deuteronomy 21:18-21
The problem at that time was that the Jewish priests were allowing lame and sick animals to be sacrificed. This was against God’s written command to sacrifice only animals that were “without blemish.”

Now this is what you shall do to them to consecrate them to minister as priests to Me: take one young bull and two rams without blemish —Exodus 29:1 (See also Ezekiel 43:22.)
Israel had failed to honor God as the priests had been allowing this lack of respect.
Applying this to today, God might say, “You fear/respect man-made authorities, why not Me?”

Prayer: Abba Father, we honor You, we praise You, we worship You, we adore You and we thank You. You are only worthy to receive honor from us. Have mercy upon us and fill us with Your grace, we pray by the name of Jesus. Amen.
