The personality of God

God is a living God – He hears, sees, knows, feels, wills, acts, and has a personality.

*Loneliness *
(Continuation from yesterday..)

How to Break and Free from Loneliness

1. *Focus your mind on Christ and understand His desire to pour grace into your life.  *
In Hebrews 4:15-16 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

2. Get a vision for the heavenly things.

2 Corinthians 4:17 “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”
Psalm 17:15 “As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.”
Colossians 3:1-4 “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”

3. *Never be idle. *

Proverbs 12:24-28 The diligent hand will rule, but laziness will lead to forced labor. Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a good word cheers it up. A righteous man is careful in dealing with his neighbor, but the ways of the wicked lead them astray. A lazy man doesn’t roast his game, but to a diligent man, his wealth is precious. There is life in the path of righteousness, but another path leads to death.

Idle mind is devil’s workshop so take initiative to make yourself busy.
If you’re socially isolated, consider volunteering, doing community service, or an activity you enjoy, as these are good ways to meet people. In short, knowingly and purposefully divert your mind.

4. *Don’t wait ‘long’ for the best weather. *
Ecclesiastes 11:4-6 Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest. Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another–or maybe both.

Prayer: Abba Father, You are Omnipresent and have promised never to leave me alone nor to forsake me. What a great comfort it is to know that no matter where I am or what I am doing, You are with me and I can call upon You, day or night.. knowing that Your ears are ever open to my cries for help. Lord, You know that there are times when I feel very lonely. Lord help me to focus You and help me Lord to turn the eyes of my heart toward You every moment of the day and away from myself.. knowing that only You can provide the fellowship and intimacy that I crave for and that it is You alone Who can flood Your perfect peace into my heart and reveal Yourself to me in a new and special way. Thank You for being my Comforter and Counsellor – I pray that I may draw close to You in a way that I have never known before so that Your comfort and grace may flow through me to others who are going through a similar loneliness – this I ask in Jesus name, Amen.
