The personality of God
God’s Promises Special rewards to the children who will keep His commandments.
1. HEALTHY LIFE. An obedient never have any diseases which God have put on the Egyptians; ‘for I, the LORD, am your healer’ says in Exodus 15:26.” And Deuteronomy 7:15 promises that ‘The LORD will remove from you all sickness; and He will not put on you any of the harmful diseases of Egypt which you have known, but He will lay them on all who hate you’.
2. LONG LIFE. Can obedience affect one’s length of days? Deuteronomy 32:46-47; Proverbs 3:1-2. As a general principle, if we will seek to live in the will of God and obey His laws, then our days will be lengthened; but if we break His laws by living careless, intemperate, self-led lives, then our days may be shortened.
3. PROTECTION. There is a wonderful promise in Ecclesiastes 8:5 “Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure.” – look it! Does it mean that nothing will “go wrong” if we obey God? It means that Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” will be fulfilled in our experience. Sorrow, trials and testings will come, but as they come from Him they will never be “evil”, always “good”
Deuteronomy 23:5 “However, the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam but turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you.”
4. GLADNESS. Nehemiah 8:13-17 (the head of the families along with Priests and levites listened to the Word of God and they spread the Word of God in their towns, later all the families returned from exile and lived together.)
5. GREAT PEACE. Yes, great peace for all obedient children – Psalm 119:165 “Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.”
Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Prayer: Dear Abba Father, I want to live godly in Christ Jesus and I ask that You would help me to develop an attitude of obedience to Your will and an increasing trust in Your Word. Help me to grow in grace, and to develop the right godly practice and scripture purpose in life, so that You are lifted up in my heart and glorified in all I do. May I learn to praise You without ceasing and to develop an attitude of prayfulness – and help me to be obedient to carry out all that I am called to do as a child of God – so that You increase as I decrease.I pray by the name of Jesus, Amen
