*Rejection *
(Continuation from yesterday…)

How to overcome rejection?

III. Resist the spirit of rejection.

The Bible is filled with examples of those who overcame rejection. In their lives of each one, let us see the keys to overcome rejection.
(Continuation from yesterday…)

Samson
Samson experienced massive rejection through Delilah’s betrayal.
Samson experienced many successes and failures.
Lessons from the life of Samson.
1. Samson’s life reveals how God can use human imperfections to fulfill His purpose.
2. Use our strength for God’s work. He ended up killing more Philistines through his death than he did in his life.
3. He overcame his weakness for women and ended up focused back on the keys so that he succeeded in the end. (See Judges 16: 23-31)
4. You are free to choose, but you are not free from the consequence of your choice.
5. God can use any situations to fulfill His purpose

Job
Job had a good life and trusted completely in God, but then many terrible things happened to him, he lost his wife, all his children and fell ill. In spite of his terrible life, he continued to trust in God. The evil things in his life came from Satan, who thought that Job only believed because he had a good life (Job 1:6-12).
Satan did all he could to make Job lose his faith, but Job continued to trust in God alone. His perseverance was finally rewarded: after Satan gave up, God blessed Job’s life (Job. 42:12).
*Lessons from Job’s life. *
1. Job was Blameless
2. Job was Upright
3. Feared God
4. trust in God is ultimately rewarded either on earth or in heaven or in both places.
5. Finally satan was defeated and Job received double portions.

Stephen
Stephen, one of the first martyrs in the New Testament church. He faced rejection to the point of death and was not swayed from his testimony or his confronting of what the leaders were doing in rebellion to God. He spoke an entire church history of the leader’s behaviors.
Lessons from the life of Stephen.
1. He stood for the truth and shown the core of Christian commitment is ‘service’.
2. He spoke for God and proved that nothing is more important than the Word of God. He is a motivator for the true preachers.
3. God does his greatest work through “ordinary” people.
4. Christians are a befuddling contradiction to the world.
5. Sometimes God’s will for us is martyrdom.

Romans 5:6-8 “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Prayer. Abba Father, we believe the Holy Trinity. Jesus, You are the creator, created us with Your own image. We believe that You have accepted rejection from Your own creation. Have mercy upon us. Many times, we rejected You by word and action. We confess that it is a sin and forgive our sins. Hallelujah to You,Jesus. You have crushed the head of the serpent and destroyed the work of devil. Jesus, You are our Protector and Refuge. You are the Author of our life. We rebuke the spirit of rejection by the name of Jesus. We stand for You Jesus. Use us as a witness for Your kingdom. Thank You for accepting us as your children. Guide us, guard us and protect us. We pray by the name of Jesus. Amen.
