Serve

Jesus did not expect others to serve Him instead He served others. Mathew 20:28 Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many

Service is a gift of God.  Every Christian’s motivational spiritual gift represents what God does in him to shape his perspective on life and motivate his words and actions. Romans 12:3–8 describes “basic motivations,” which are characterized by inherent qualities or abilities within a believer—the Creator’s unique workmanship in him or her.

Those with the gift of service is called ‘server’. These gifted service oriented people have the following characteristics .

  1. Server will be able to establish a honest connection with others.
  2. Server will be able to create a sense of ease and understanding with others
  3. Server will be able to motivate others to achieve more from others
  4. To see and meet practical needs.
  5. To provide free service to others
  6. Server have no regard for weariness.
  7. Servers are alert to likes and dislikes.
  8. Servers have a strong desire to be with other people.
  9. Servers need approval and recognition.
  10. Servers enjoy short-range projects.
  11. Servers meet needs quickly.
  12. Servers feel god qualification.
  13. Servers expresses himself most satisfactorily by doing tangible work.
  14. Servers prefer both short-term tasks and long-terms tasks.
  15. Servers will often volunteer to serve in church-related or group-related projects
  16. Servers would rather carry out responsibilities themselves
  17. Servers would be efficient to make friends and train them to serve others
  18. Server never try to divide and rule his people
  19. Server who have resilience/grit are able to take good risks and are open to change.
  20. Server will be transparent
  21. Server will address issues faster and with more precision, and it makes them more flexible to respond to an ever-changing environment
  22. Server should empower their subordinates by delegating tasks appropriately, providing proper guidance and limits, and supporting the decisions of the subordinates.
  23. Server will be flexible
  24. Patience is a defining characteristic of great leaders and successful business founders
  25. Diplomacy is one of the key characteristic of a good server
  26. The next characteristic is  Humility
  27. Server will have the ability to lead through influence, rather than authority
  28. The vision should be big enough to inspire and broad enough to be inclusive
  29. Trusting others is very important for servers
  30. One server’s quality of a great leader is the ability to solve problems
  31. Servers will always depend on God.
  32. Availability is one of the server’s strongest character qualities. He almost never says no when asked to help others.
  33. Server never be selfish
  34. Servers have a God-given strength to do physical tasks. You’d better get out of the way when a server’s around!
  35. Successful server will have the quality of ownership and accountability

How to serve the Lord?

Serve the Lord with all your heart and all your soul
Deuteronomy 11:13 “And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul.”

Serve the Lord with fear
Psalm 2:11” Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.”

Serve only One Master
Matthew 6:24 “No man can serve two masters:for either he will hate the one, and love the other ; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

How to serve others?

Serve others with all the gifts
1 Peter 4:10 “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

Practice the superior to serve the subordinates
Matthew 20:27 ” And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant.”

Mathew 5:40-42 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

Enjoy the freedom by serving others
1 Corinthians 9:19 “For though I be free from all men, yet I have made myself servant.

Whenever you have opportunity, serve others
Galatians 6:10 “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

Server’s rewards 

Heavenly Father will honour one who serve and follow Jesus
John 12:26 “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shallow also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour

Prayer: Abba Father, we thank You for Your great salvation plan for mankind and Your beloved Son, Lord Jesus Christ, who came into this world as a living sacrifice. In all His time on earth, He laid His life upon Your will, and loved and served the world. We pray Father, that we become great examples of our Lord Jesus. May we love and serve those around us who need our services and offerings of love. Lord Jesus Christ, we praise You and we glorify You. We give You thanks for Your great Love. We praise You, for You came to fulfill the Father’s will. In Your great love, You saved us from sin and condemnation, and we thank You for this divine exchange. Thank You for Your promises that we will be head never be tail. Lord, Fill us with Holy Spirit and empower us with His gift, so that we can be a good leader and we can serve Your kingdom. We pray by the name of Jesus. Amen
