LEARN and PRACTICE the WORD of GOD

The personality of God

God’s special Promises to the humble

Countless times throughout Bible, God gave mercy and promotion to those who humbled themselves before Him and following are the special promises (continuation from yesterday)

Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
1 Peter 5:5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

4. Wisdom
Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
In surrender and humility, God will grant us wisdom. Wisdom is so much more than knowledge. It is knowing God’s will. It is knowing God’s truth and how to apply it. It is knowing God’s love in every situation.

5. Honor
Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
Proverbs 18:12 Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.
With humility there is honor. This honor is not what we tend to think about in today’s society. True honor starts with God alone. When we submit to God and humble ourselves before His throne, we are transformed and the lives we live become honorable to Him.
As we purify our hearts before God and commit to His transforming love, we will be renewed and therefore honored.

6. Greatest in Heaven
Matthew 18:4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. –
There is none more humble than a child.
Jesus speaks of the importance of being like children in our faith. Children are humble and in humility they heed their parents guidance. In humility they trust their guardians.
In this humility there is greatness. Consider our merely human example. A child who listens perfectly to his parents, honors them, and is humble before them, is considered great in their eyes.

7. Lifted Up
1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up.
When we humble ourselves before the Lord, He promises that He will lift us up in His timing. We can take great comfort in this. As we submit to His leading and His will, we can be sure that He will lift us up.

Prayer:  Abba Father, as You continue to bless me, God, allow pride to fall by the wayside, for all these worldly gains and desires mean nothing. You’re all I want and all I need, and I will boast of Your glory and how You came and saved me. I will humble myself before You, for You are the great I AM WHO I AM, the Alpha and the Omega, Author of truth and life. Before you I will bow, for You alone deserve all the praise and all the glory. In Jesus’ mighty name, I am set free of the pride-filled chains that binds me! Please help me to portray You to anyone who encounters me that I may give glory to You. I thank you for an answered prayer and may You continue to bless and keep me as i take steps to walk in Your footsteps. This is what I ask through your Son and my Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
