LEARN and PRACTICE the WORD of GOD

Prepare for Christmas – December 16

Accept

God created us and loves us more than we can imagine. God accepts us as we are, as long as we come with sincere hearts and try our best to do what is right, with God’s help.  We should also make an effort to reach out and continually show practical love by accepting and including others who may feel rejected.

1.  Accepting yourself – fearfully & wonderfully made
Psalm 139:14, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

2.  Accept each other as Christ accepted us
Romans 15:7 “Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.”

3. Christ invited everyone to come to Him.
Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

4. Will Jesus take me back? Will God accept me?
John 6:37 “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”

5. Accepting Everyone – “Everyone who calls…”
John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.”

6. Accept each other with divine forms
Ephesians 4:2-3 “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

7. By His grace, God accepts us in Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 1:6 “to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”

8. Jesus offers living water to everyone.
John 7:37-38 “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”

9. We may come to God with all our weakness, our folly, our sinfulness, and fall at His feet in penitence.
Isaiah 55:7 “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him;and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”

10. Christ doesn’t accept only the righteous and holy; He died for us while we were sinners.
Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

11. Jesus loves to have us come to Him just as we are, sinful, helpless, dependent.
Mark 2:17 “When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

12. If we receive Christ, He gives us the right to be called children of God.
John 1:12. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name”

13. God’s love is eternal
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

14. No matter what our past may have been, God accepts us unconditionally, but He loves us too much to leave us the way we are.
Ezekiel 18:21-22. “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live.”

Prayer: Abba Father, I pray for all the souls on this planet that feel like they are not accepted and loved by others. May they feel your love, comfort, and peace all around them. I pray for all the souls that feel like they are alone and they have nobody else in this world. May they feel you almighty and unconditional love. For all the people out there who struggle with self-acceptance, allow them to feel your loving presence, your comfort, and your peace.  I pray by the name of  Jesus. Amen.
