3. Misplaced attention
Everyone might have misplaced something in several times -‘Misplacement’ is working because of the lack of attention
Matthew 6:34 “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”
Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Psalm 62:5 My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him.”
Trust God and declare that God will help me
God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.
God will help you. . .are you getting this? Say it out loud. . .GOD WILL HELP ME.
1 John 4:4 “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
That’s right, our great God will help you. . .the scripture doesn’t say that He only helps preachers, teachers, business people, the successful, the famous . . .the Word says “God will help you [no matter “who” you are] deal with whatever hard things come.”
Refocus our expectation from the negative to the positive.
As God is helping us and He is with us. . .so victory will be ours.
Begin each day filled with supernatural expectation about the manifestation of God’s presence, peace, protection, promises, power, promotion and provision.
Psalm 5:3 “In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”
Let us start every day with a positive expectancy about supernatural favor, divine connections, revelatory insight and yes, even goals that will be accomplished.
Expectation must be a powerful part of daily confession.
“I thank you that I’m anointed to get people out of debt. I thank you there is going to be a miracle in my life today and anybody who gets near me is going to have a miracle in their life as well.”
My expectation lies in God.
Psalm 62:5 says: “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.”
Sadly, many people manifest less than the best. . .because that’s what they’re expecting. Think about that for a moment
1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Be careful not to set your heart on things that really don’t matter.
I cannot tell you how many times I have seen good people lured away from church life because they have fallen in love with things or activities that have no eternal merit.
Many things oppose our affection and time and attention, and it seems we’re always needing to evaluate where we’re focusing our lives. Joshua told the people of Israel that they were to give their affection and worship to God alone (Josh. 24:14). This was significant in contrast to the idols worshiped by the nations around them. These idols were made of metal and were only the work of men’s hands (Ps. 115:4). They were totally powerless compared to the Lord. Therefore, God’s people were exhorted to find their security in Him and not in other gods (Judg. 10:13-16). Jesus reiterated this in His discussion of the commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matt. 22:37).
The Lord alone is our help and shield (Ps. 115:9). May we reserve our worship for Him.
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for Your great love for us. You sent your only Son to live with us and show us how to love. He gave His life for us and resurrected on that third day so that we could also be with You in eternity. My God and Lord, I have lost my attention from you many times. I couldn’t seek Your kingdom as primary in my life, have mercy upon me. Forgive my sins. Help me to seek Your Kingdom first and follow You unconditionally. Lord, let me have the atom of the radiance of Your love, let it come upon us from Your excellence. Knowing Your love for us is humbling too. We pray by the name of Jesus
